
These are photos of the beach at Boryeong. The first shows the Yellow Sea water level at high tide, the 2nd at about 2/3rds of the low tide level and the photo above shows some of our group on the beach at low tide. The Koreans call the area a "mud flat" but it is actually sand, very similar to a Northwest beach in Washington or Oregon. The tides, however, are huge, up to 30 feet. The Yellow Sea is very shallow and apparently quite polluted.
