One of the things we like best about Korean culture is the way that they treat their older folks. When a grandma or grandpa gets on the bus or subway many of the young people automatically rise to give them their seat. If a senior citizen is crossing a street and the light changes one can witness one of the rare circumstances where vehicles will pause before charging through an intersection. Best of all, we have seen many situations where a young man or woman shows great gentleness and love for an elderly relative who needs assistance walking or getting around. In the top photo a wondeful 10 year old is helping his tiny grandmother negotiate her way on a busy street in Seoul. When we talked to him we could see in his eyes the great love and concern he had for his grandmother.

In the 2nd photo one of Elder & Sisters Dawes' daughters poses next to a "yummy" stringer of dried fish while visiting in Seoul. This is a common method of displaying the small fish prized by the people here.

In the first video we captured one of the plentiful flaggers that are everywhere near Seoul construction sites. Watch him carefully. He has many, many identical twins working throughout the city. In what must be a real money saver, robotic flaggers are quite common here.

In the 2nd video we captured leaves falling from some Ginkgo trees. We were amazed by the number of leaves falling and the speed with which they were dropped. Watch carefully and you will see what we mean when we say it was just like it was "raining" leaves!
